Markus
Hill is a tax partner in the law firm Bruski Smeets & Lange. His clients
benefit from his longtime experience in national and international tax law and
appreciate his comprehensive approach for advice for which he is not only
applying taxwise knowledge but develops and implements innovative tax,
investment and financing structures considering the economical and legal
circumstances of his clients. For that matter, his main focus of advice is the
support and structuring of acquisitions, especially in the areas of private
equity, M&A and real estate. Furthermore, he advises companies on complex
domestic and international tax and accounting questions, like for instance for
implementing holding structures and joint ventures, groupwide reorganisations
as well as refinancings. Also, individuals enjoy the advantage of his advice on investments,
management participations, the tax optimised sale of their business and estate
planning.

Markus Hill studied Business Economics at the
University Aachen and was admitted as a tax advisor in 1995.
He started his career at Goutier, Knopf, Tulloch &
Partner, which later merged with the English law firm SJ Berwin. After an
intermediate stint at Deloitte & Touche, he was a partner at SJ Berwin from
2002 until 2017, only interrupted by three years in his own firm Hill &
Partner. Thereafter, he was a partner at McDermott, Will & Emery, until
from 2018 onwards he was a partner at King & Wood Mallesons. He joined the
firm as a partner in October 2024.
